Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Meat Cutter/Butcher to join our team in a full-time or part-time capacity. In this role, you will help prepare high-quality meat products, maintain excellent presentation standards, and support a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and committed to delivering consistent product quality.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, grind, and portion various meats according to store standards and customer requests
• Prepare meat cases and displays to ensure attractive presentation and proper product rotation
• Maintain freshness, quality, and food safety standards at all times
• Operate knives, saws, grinders, slicers, and other meat department equipment safely and effectively
• Assist customers with special cutting requests and provide friendly, knowledgeable service
• Weigh, label, package, and price products accurately
• Monitor inventory levels and help reduce waste through proper handling and storage
• Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and equipment in accordance with sanitation procedures
• Follow company policies, health regulations, and workplace safety guidelines
• Work collaboratively with team members to support daily department operations

Qualifications

• Previous experience in meat cutting, butchery, food preparation, or a related role preferred
• Knowledge of meat cuts, portioning, and safe food handling practices
• Ability to use knives and meat-processing equipment safely and confidently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math skills for weighing, pricing, and portioning products
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate to heavy items as needed
