Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000 + benefits.

This role will begin as a 3 to 6 month contract remote role, and (pending successful review) transition into a full time role that is fully onsite at our office in Bellevue, Washington.

We are seeking a mid-to-senior level game designer for an upcoming Turn Based Tactics PC game. This role is a middle point between 1st and 2nd party development. We are building a bespoke game for a client with a very specific vision. The person in this role must be willing to take detailed, top down direction in certain design areas that the client feels strongly about, while creating certainty from ambiguity in other design areas that the client feels less strongly about.

Responsibilities

• Author game design documents on in-game systems such as Combat, Equipment, Base Building, Unit Upgrades, and more.
• Design and build combat levels, characters, and abilities in Unity.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working as a combat, level or systems designer on a published Turn Based Tactics game.
• Knowledge, experience and openness to leveraging AI tools to support game development process.
• Deep play experience with Turn Based Tactics games, including but not limited to: Baldur's Gate 3, XCOM 2, Fire Emblem (various), Final Fantasy Tactics, Wasteland 3, and more.
• Experience implementing Levels, Abilities, and Characters in Unity with relevant portfolio items.
